Kosa Kolektiv is involved in an ongoing effort to raise money for the Pysanka Children's Home in Potelech, Ukraine.

The fundraising started as an initiative put forth by Bozena in the spring of 2010 and is in fact, what first rallied all the Kosa members together.  After putting on a very successful Pysanka Workshop in Toronto, we realized that we all shared common interests and values.  So, the "Pysanka cause" is very dear to our hearts and will continue to be one of our main projects.

In 2011 we raised $1,500 for the Pysanka Home in Potelech. In 2012 we raised just over $4,000 with the support of our wonderful workshop participants, St. Vlad's Institute, Rosewood Estates and Honeypie organics. A special thanks goes out to the Humnitski family, who raised over $2,000 in memory of beloved late Deacon Paul Humnitski. Deacon Paul was a pillar of the Ukrainian Catholic community, whose lifelong dream had been to work with orphaned children in Ukraine. Вічная Память.

We continue to raise funds for various charitable causes with proceeds from our annual pysanka workshops. This is our way of giving back to our ancestral home in a meaningful way. In subsequent years, we have raised funds for charitable organizations such as Dzerelo and Mennonite Central Committee's outreach work in Ukraine.
